ITPC Vancouver Holds Food and Beverage Exhibition in Canada
The head of the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) Vancouver accompanied the Indonesian Consul General in Vancouver to open the Indonesian Trade Show which took place at the ITPC Vancouver Office, Wednesday (25 August). Present at the event were Minister of Advanced Education and Skills Training of the Province of B.C., Anne Kang and Member of the Legislative Assembly for Richmond South Centre, Henry Yao. The Indonesian Trade Show, which will be held on August 25-27, 2021, is the first exhibition held independently by Indonesian representatives in Canada. This exhibition is held to deal with the many exhibition promotion programs that have been delayed or turn them into virtual exhibitions. With the live exhibition, it is hoped that it will attract the attention of importers, distributors, and retail marketing store network management for Indonesian products.

The Head of ITPC Vancouver emphasized that the exhibition with the theme “A Flavorful Journey to Indonesia, Discover Indonesian Diversity and Heritage through its Finest Food and Beverage Products” is an effort to promote Indonesian food and beverage products in the Canadian market so that they are more widely known so that their export performance can increase. The Indonesian Trade Show presented participants from several large producer companies and 12 representatives from small and medium enterprises (SMEs) which were fostered by BI, BRI, and BNI. SME products will not only be promoted through exhibitions, but will continue to receive guidance and assistance until they are accepted by the Canadian market.

The choice of food and beverage theme is also to support one of the national programs, namely Indonesia Spice Up the World. This program encourages the export of Indonesian spice products, instant cooking spices, and other complementary cooking spices to the world market, especially Canada. In the series of exhibition events, discussions were also held with the Indonesian Diaspora in Vancouver, which is also an importer of Indonesian products to Canada. It is hoped that through this exhibition there will be a relaxation of exports of Indonesian food and beverage products which had experienced a decline in exports due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
